Here we go! After one huge demonstration of Hope around the world with Obama’s victory…Yesterday citizens from California voted also on Proposition 8. Just to say YES or NO. What the matter inside of the 2 options? Let’s see it!

YES = to reforce prejudice, continue separating people based on failed values, in unrational and pathetic quotes as “God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Ivan”, “Marriage only to men and women”, “Family’s basis are evoqued by Mum, Daddy and Children” and etc…

NO = to try keeping equal rights to all citizens who want to get together, in despite of their sexual orientation; to spread out Respect, to avoid separation between people based in that failed values mentioned above…

And…THE PATHETIC PROPOSITION HAS WON!

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California voters have adopted a constitutional amendment outlawing same-sex marriage, overturning the state Supreme Court decision that gave gay couples the right to wed just months ago.The passage of Proposition 8 in Tuesday’s election represents a crushing political defeat for gay rights activists, who had hoped public opinion on the contentious issue had shifted enough since the state overwhelmingly passed an earlier gay marriage ban in 2000 to help them defeat the measure.”We pick ourselves up and trudge on,” Kate Kendell, executive director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights, said early Wednesday when it appeared the measure was headed for passage. “There has been enormous movement in favor of full equality in eight short years. That is the direction this is heading, and if it’s not today or it’s not tomorrow, it will be soon.”With 96.4 percent of precincts reporting, the measure was passing 52.2 percent to 47.8 percent.Some provisional and absentee ballots remained to be tallied, but based on trends and the locations of the votes still outstanding, the margin of support in favor of the initiative was secure.”People believe in the institution of marriage,” Frank Schubert, co-manager of the Yes on 8 campaign said after declaring victory early Wednesday. “It’s one institution that crosses ethnic divides, that crosses partisan divides. … People have stood up because they care about marriage and they care a great deal.”Proposition 8 overturns the California Supreme Court decision that overturned the 2000 ban and legalized same-sex marriage in the state in mid-June. Since then, an estimated 18,000 gay and lesbian couples, many of them from other states, have been married.The measure’s passage represents a personal loss for couples who still hoped to wed, and casts a shadow of uncertainty on the legal unions of those who already have. Because the initiative holds that only marriage between a man and a woman is recognized in the state, legal experts have said it will have to be resolved in court whether existing gay marriages would be nullified.

ATÉ AGORA ESTOU PASSADA…Assisti um emocionante documentário, mostrando o 1º Casamento, com a Licença Matrimonial fornecida pelo prefeito de San Francisco, em 2004, a Phyllis Lion e Del Martin, ativistas lésbicas unidas há mais de 50 anos.Apesar de não ser californiana, isso infelizmente reforça minha crença: União Civil no Brasil? Xiiiiiiiiiiii…50 anos pra aprovar é pouco! Quem viver (não sei se eu), verá!

Após a vitória de Obama, que mobilizou pessoas ao redor do mundo…Acontece isso.

Tentei evitar, mas…A enxurrada de notícias sobre as Eleições Americanas pegou-me de jeito! E aí fui ler o impacto que traria para nosso País, algumas propostas de cada um e…apesar de eu ter alguma reserva quanto à inexperiência simpatizo mais com Obama. Contudo, espero que o planeta não continue chacoalhando enquanto isso não se define – haja vista a definição do pleito, que ocorrerá apenas após a contagem dos votos dos Delegados de cada Estado, que se dará em 20 de Dezembro. Até lá, haja Felizac* para os Mercados, ah ah ah!

I’ve tried to avoid but…the millions of publications about USA ELECTIONS got me for real!And then I ‘ve been reading about the impact of this Election to Brazil (my country), some purposes of each one, and..in despite of Obama’s less experienced I agree more with him. However I really hope that this Election do not continue shacking up the Planet too many time – because the complete decision of this will occur only on December 20th, when all the Delegates vote to choose the next President.  Until then, loads of medicine to heal it up the Anxiety of Markets!
